Wisconsinites share a commitment to the natural
treasures that make our state special. Republicans and Democrats,
young and old, city folks and rural dwellers, top executives and
students all value places to fish, camp, hunt and play outside with
our children and grandchildren. It’s time to call on our representatives
at the Capitol to renew the Stewardship Fund and honor Wisconsin’s
great outdoor traditions.
We need you. Your elected leaders
need to hear that the Stewardship Fund matters. Everyone who values
our parks, trails, forests and rivers can help. The following tools
will help you educate your legislators about the important role
the Stewardship Fund has in protecting the special places in your
community.
What can I do to help?
Call or write to your elected official
by October 19:

Copy the Conference
Committee on letters to your legislators. This
powerful committee will craft the version of the state budget
that the full Legislature will consider.
What do I say?
Fund the Stewardship program at $105 million a year to keep
pace with skyrocketing land values and inflation.
Extend Stewardship through 2020.
Provide $30 million a year in grants to communities and non-profits
who match state dollars with local funds and private contributions.
Protect Wisconsin’s pristine waters
and priceless natural lands for our children and grandchildren.
