The campaign to reauthorize the Knowles-Nelson
Stewardship Fund has shifted into high gear. It is time to call
on our representatives at the Capitol to renew the Stewardship Fund
and honor Wisconsin’s great outdoor traditions.
We need you. Your elected leaders
need to hear that the Stewardship Fund matters. Everyone who values
our parks, trails, forests and rivers can help. Please use the following
tools to educate your local media and your legislators about the
important role the Stewardship Fund has in protecting the special
places in your community.
We cannot do this
without you. When Stewardship
was threatened in the past, broad grassroots support from the
state’s land
trusts carried the Stewardship Fund though potentially devastating
funding cuts. We need that groundswell of bipartisan support more
than ever. Here are some ideas about how you can help:
