In May, the Future of Farming and Rural
Life Conference
was held at Monona Terrace Conference Center in Madison. Hosted
by the Wisconsin
Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, the "Our Future,
Our Heritage: Agriculture and Rural Life" Conference explored compelling issues facing Wisconsin agriculture and rural
life. To

Over 600 people attended three workshops held
around the state in late February. Registration was full, and almost
200 additional people had to be turned away. The forums, entitled
Growing
Wisconsin: A Workshop on How to Sustain Our Working Lands drew
farmers, planners, town and city officials, land trust supporters,
and others who care about the health of Wisconsin's farming infrastructure.
