Working Lands Steering Committee

canoeing

Gathering Waters Conservancy's former executive director, Vicki Elkin, was a member of Governor Doyle's Working Lands Steering Committee. From July 2005-July 2006, this diverse group took a comprehensive look at ways to preserve working land critical for agriculture, forestry, recreation, and tourism. While on the committee, Vicki helped craft the inclusion of a state-wide Purchase of Development Rights Program as part of the committee's recommendations.

Steering Committee's final report (Page 20 of the report describes the Purchase of Development Rights grants program)
