The Land Trust Policy Network is a grassroots
network of land trust representatives and conservation-minded individuals
formed to educate decision makers and advocate for conservation
programs.
The goals of this network are to:
• Keep land trusts informed of policy
items and how they will be affected
• Increase Legislator awareness of the role of land trusts
and Gathering Waters in conserving Wisconsin's
natural resources
• Facilitate regular meetings between land trusts and their
Legislators
• Collect ideas for potential policy initiatives for Gathering
Waters
The Land Trust Policy Network has over 40 members
from land trusts across the state. Gathering Waters Conservancy
hosts quarterly meetings of the network to provide policy updates
and discuss strategy, for example, fighting the attack on the Knowles-Nelson
Stewardship Fund. In addition, email alerts are sent when policy
issues require action, as well as regular updates on legislation.
If you are interested in becoming a member of
the policy network, or receiving our email updates, please contact
Gathering Waters Conservancy at info@gatheringwaters.org.
