The success of Gathering Waters Conservancy is
due in part to the generosity of its supporters. Here are just a
few reasons why membership is so important to Gathering Waters Conservancy:
• Membership gives Gathering Waters
political clout. Gathering Waters works with the state
legislature and state agencies to ensure that policies and programs
are consistent with our widely-held conservation values. As our
membership grows, so does our presence on the Wisconsin political
landscape.
• Membership provides financial
stability over time. Although Gathering Waters receives
some of its funding through state programs and foundations, these
funds are often one-time gifts or can be lost when priorities shift.
But having members that are passionate about Wisconsin’s natural
resources and can see the impact that our work has had on their
community and the landscape will ensure that we will be able to
pursue our goals into the future.

grants are often tied to specific projects and initiatives -- but
we all know that Wisconsin has an ever-changing landscape. Gathering
Waters makes a constant effort to stay on top of or even ahead of
