Who are Gathering Waters Conservancy's Members?

They’re hikers, Boy fishingbirders, skiers and gardeners. They think that future generations need natural areas. They are concerned about water quality. They support many other conservation organizations…

If you are a member, or are considering joining, we have some information about the great group of conservation advocates who already support Gathering Waters’ programs. In 2006 we conducted a survey of our members. Responses have and will continue to help us design our programs and target work that’s clearly important to conservation supporters. Our members are an astute active group of people committed to Wisconsin’s great places. If you’re not already among them, come aboard!

Our Survey Revealed:

Our members are a selfless crew. Many joined Gathering Waters Conservancy because they feel conservation is important to Wisconsin. They continue to support our mission even if they are not in direct contact with our programs.

While we suspect that many of members care a lot about their own backyards, they are motivated to support conservation for the greater good—they care about wildlife habitat, water quality, and the experience of future generations.
