Gathering Waters Conservancy's Internship Program
provides participants with challenging work experiences while promoting
an understanding of conservation not-for-profit organizations. Interns
have the opportunity to develop skills that are useful in the operation
of not-for-profit organizations in general (e.g., membership development,
financial accounting and budgeting), or land conservation organizations
in particular (e.g., conservation policy, application of GIS technology).
Example Internship Projects:
• Photo Intern – Develop library of
high-quality photos for use in GWC promotional and outreach materials.
• Stewardship Intern – Research and collect success
stories from land trusts and landowners who have used the Knowles-Nelson
Stewardship program to fund land conservation projects.
• GIS Intern – Assist with GIS mapping of protected
lands.
Program Eligibility:
Participants must be enrolled as a student at
an accredited college or university (preferably, but not necessarily
in Wisconsin) and be a citizen of the U.S. or have met legal requirements
to work in the U.S.
How to Apply:
Interns are always welcome at Gathering Waters
Conservancy! If you are a student looking for an internship opportunity,
send us a cover letter and your email address to info@gatheringwaters.org.
